hi-fi sci-fi

now that The Hobbit trilogy has reached its journey’s end (but still battling it out at the box office), it’s time to peer into the future to see what films will pique the interest of sci-fi/fantasy/horror fans. the new year has barely just gotten underway, but there already rumblings and teasers online pertaining to the big releases of 2015. in fact, there’s a whole list of what to expect courtesy of io9…and so far, i’m intrigued by a few of the selections. however, what i am about to say will be extremely shocking…here it goes: i am NOT a Star Wars fan. there, i said it. it’s not because i’m female. it just never really resonated with me. but to each their own.

  1. I found the last Hobbit movie to be….boring. No offence, but it was basically one big long battle. I’m looking forward to the new Star wars movie, mainly cause it is something I have grown up with and know well.

i agree that Peter Jackson tends to go overboard with his battle scenes. Helm’s Deep was probably one of the most boring moments of the LOTR trilogy (no offense to the die-hard action fans). some people love the fight sequences, but after awhile it gets tedious watching everyone beat the crap out of each other on screen…and in different climates, no less! neither rain, nor snow, nor extreme heat will stop these guys from pummeling one another.

growing up, everyone i knew who was into Star Wars was male. so i just associated it as a guy’s thing. obviously, that’s not the case as there are many women who enjoy the series.
