live long and prosper

the citizens of Earth and beyond bid a fond farewell to Leonard Nimoy, who passed away last week at age 83. while he was obviously known for portraying a pop culture icon on television and in film, Mr. Nimoy was a true renaissance man; his talents extended to music and photography, the latter of which occasionally attracted controversy but also piqued curiosity. like his fictitious alter ego, Nimoy was a voice of reason who emitted a strong sense of spirituality. his devotion to the Jewish faith and its people was remarkable, and it showed both onscreen and off. his final post on Twitter appeared just a few days before his death: “a life is like a garden. perfect moments can be had, but not preserved except in memory. live long and prosper.” he will be missed dearly.
